You haven’t been to Chicago if you haven’t been to Portillo’s. Great place to try my first authentic Chicago Dog. The Italian Beef Sandwich, though is the star of the show. I’m not a huge fan of Italian Beef Sandwiches, but this one won me over. You also NEED to leave room for dessert. The chocolate cake shake is an out-of-body experience - and the portion is huge.
Unexpectedly staying in the Naperville area due to poor weather conditions. But bonus for Portillos being close by. We stopped by late and it was not busy due to the weather. Employees were nice, but more focused on closing duties than being available for guests. Ordered the my standard Big Beef with cheese and hot peppers with fries and cheese sauce. Amazing. Restaurant has standard Portillos look, but it feels like it needs a refresh. Other than that it was great.
We came with a coupon for a free hot dog that we won at the Chicago Bulls game, but it had expired by one day. The gentleman was kind enough to honor it anyway. We really appreciate his kindness—especially since we had placed a big order for our whole family.
Today was my first time visiting a Portillos location. Luis the chief staff might’ve given me the best service I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Very friendly dude that obviously cares a lot about the restaurant and the guests it serves. The food was top notch btw but the service from Luis was very impressive. Best joint in Naperville.
We had a fantastic experience at Portillo’s in Naperville for our work group lunch outing of about 20 people! The service was excellent from start to finish — every staff member we interacted with was friendly, efficient, and welcoming. A special shoutout to the man who went above and beyond for our large group: he quickly moved tables together and got all the condiments set up for us without even being asked. It made everything run so smoothly and stress-free. As for the food — the Italian beef sandwich with hot peppers is a must-try and definitely a go-to whenever visiting. And you have to save room for a chocolate cake shake to finish it off — 10/10! Great food, great atmosphere, and truly outstanding service. We’ll definitely be back!
I went through the drive thru and the two staff members I talked to were pretty friendly, both seemed really sweet. Food is pretty good, I didn’t realize a pickle would come with my hot dog which I don’t mind but I just wish it was wrapped up separately because I can mostly taste pickle juice on my hot dog. I got the chicago classic dog with no peppers and it’s pretty good. They also got me a little hot dog for my corgi, he liked the fries too. Good amount of salt. $14 though for everything is a little expensive but that’s this economy for you
Great food and even better service. Matthew Habiger does an excellent job as manager and always makes sure customers are taken care of. He is professional, hardworking, and creates a welcoming atmosphere. Managers like Matthew are a big reason why I keep coming back to Portillo's.
I run an organization called PAC (a little over 300 people), and almost every other Thursday we go to this Portillos. And I want to say that manager Mikaela is the best manager out there. Yesterday we had birthday in our group (like 25 people show up) and she came up after we were done singing and gave us a cake FOR FREE. Totally didn't have to. We love their staff, food is always quick, Manager Gia is also amazing. We will be keep coming back!!!

I rarely get to eat portillo's hot because I order it for delivery so I forgot how amazing their food is when it's fresh and hot from the restaurant!! The fries are so amazing as is most of the rest of the food! This time we got a two hot dog meal with a large cheese fry and a small Coke. The hot dogs were one that was plain (to dip in cheese sauce because if you order a cheese dog from portillo's it has melted American cheese on it 🤢). The second hot dog had everything but sports peppers on it. We got two cheese sauces, a large onion ring and an Italian sausage sandwich with no peppers but the bun is slightly wet from the au juice from the Italian beef. Everything that they have is amazing! It also took everything in me not to order the eclair cake! But all of it was awesome! And the only weird part was that I had ordered it ahead of time for pickup and it told me to go to a red counter where I assume the ride share/delivery people pick it up. I went there and no one was there, and I also waited in the area where you would pick up your food if you were eating inside. Eventually someone else walked over to the red counter and a staff person walked over by them and they had to give their information before they could get the bag of food that was behind the counter. So forward to the wise, don't just wait for your food to be put onto that shelf because apparently they keep it in the bag. So you asked for it. Which makes sense so people aren't touching your food or taking it when they're not supposed to be . But then why write in your app the confirmation email to pick it up off the shelf? but If that is the worst thing about this place, I'll take it! The only problem I had during this trip is that I couldn't log into my rewards account for some reason even though I tried to change the password with the forget password thing. So I'll have to follow up with that later. Because for a $35 order- it should count towards my rewards
